Leadership Team


David has worked within the security sector for over 15 years, the first eight of which he spent on the tools.As Managing Director, his role covers many aspects of the organisation, but he enjoys developing and growing new partnerships and improving the Quality of Education.


Becky has been with Skills for Security for the last 6 years. In her role as Senior Operations Manager, she sits on the Senior Management Team and is accountable for ensuring the business demonstrates operational excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.

Darrell has recently joined Skills for Security where he believes he is in the best position to influence the Fire and Security sector, being able to engage with employers and industry bodies in a way that he hasn’t been able to before. He strongly believes in providing the highest quality of training across the UK, upskilling existing engineers and inspiring new ones. 


Sarah has been involved with the education sector all of her career. She worked at Liverpool John Moores University before heading to Japan to teach English as a Foreign Language. Three countries and various promotions later, she has now moved into the Apprenticeship Sector as the Training & Quality Manager.

Mark has over 15 years experience in the Security Industry. He owned and ran a training company for twelve years and holds three licences - Close Protection, Door Supervision and CCTV. Mark strongly believes in professionalism and quality of training.

Shannon primarily manages the funding & data claim each month ensuring we are consistently complying with the ESFA, also completing further admin tasks to continue developing the growth of the company. 


Rachel joined Skills for Security in the autumn of 2020 and work as the Training Support Administrator. She works behind the scenes supporting the trainers and apprentices and helps facilitate the Functional Skills and work closely with the Functional Skills tutor.


Scott is the main point of contact for many of the employers. His job role consists of him assisting employers with recruiting apprentices, enrolling them onto the apprentice programme and helping them with applying for funding.

Sophie is an Operations Assistant and the main point of contact for our employers. She liaises with them daily to ensure they are having the best experience possible whilst having an apprentice on course with Skills for Security.

Ian has been in the Fire and Security industry for 15 years, 14 of which were spent on the tools installing, servicing and commissioning a variety of systems.He has now been with us for over a year, enjoying passing his knowledge onto the apprentices through theory and practical sessions.

Sadie has worked in Education and training for over 10 years, teaching and managing a variety of ages, in a variety of different subjects. Her goal is to provide all apprentices with a clear, concise and thorough training plan to assist our employers in the development of fantastic new talent in the industry.


Following years of invaluable industry experience in management roles, Ashley returned to education to share the knowledge and experience in a subject she is very passionate about. Ashley is responsible for ensuring learners meet the criteria set by the TL&S Apprenticeship

Darren has been in the security and cabling industry for over 20 years working within public, commercial and military environments.

He currently monitors the progress of the apprentices and ensure they meet their set targets to enable them to go for EPA.


Charlie works as an Training & Quality Assistant and often works behind the scenes with the training team to make sure the training runs smoothly, as well as communicating with the learners on a regular basis.
