First Aid/Emergency  First Aid at Work

This course provides basic life saving first aid skills and knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, covering: Adult resuscitation (CPR), Burns and scalds, Choking adult,  Communication and casualty care, Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory based) Defibrillator pad placement (theory based),  Minor and severe bleeding, Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations), Seizures, Shock & Unresponsive adult.

Security Guard

The SIA Level 2 Award for Security Officer in the Private Security Industry Licence allows you to operate within the sector as a Security Guard, working in retail, shops, offices, warehousing and many more. This licence allows you to work in the private security industry as a security officer. This licence can lead to many roles, including: Patrol Officer Key-holders Site Security Building Reception Retail Security Officer and Concierge

 

Eligibility: 18+ years, Right to work in UK, DBS Check. Door Supervisor

The course was designed by the Security Industry Authority & offers a straightforward path to securing your SIA door supervisor licence. 

 

What will I learn on the course: The course runs over 7 days and is divided into 4 units and covers everything from the legal aspects of working in security to the latest physical intervention techniques. Course Units: Principles of Working in The Private Security Industry, Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor, Application of Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry and Physical Intervention Skills.  

Qualification: Level 2 Door Supervisor 4 Multiple Choice Exams and a Physical Intervention

Screening & Searching

Security screening of applicants is a key requirement for any business hiring or sub-contracting in the security sector. This course covers the principles of security screening and the practical application of reviewing and assessing candidates information in line with BS 7858

 

Conflict Management

It is appropriate for a wide range of sectors and is suitable for anyone who has a customer facing role, deals with service users or the public. It can also be a useful qualification for individuals who would like a better understanding of how to prevent conflict situations from arising and feel more confident in being able to deal with situations if they arise. 
 

How long will it take: a total qualification time of 16-hours and of this 11-hours is recommended as guided learning.
 

Topics covered: how communication can be used to solve problems and reduce the likelihood of conflict, the factors that influence human responses in conflict situations, how to assess and reduce risks in conflict situations, how to communicate effectively and de-escalate conflict in emotive situations and good practice to follow after conflict situations.
 

Assessment method: assessed by a multiple-choice test.

Award for Personal Licence Holder

This qualification is aimed at individuals working in, or preparing to work in, any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licensed premises must hold a personal licence.

How long will it take: 10 hours and of this 8 are recommended as guided learning hours (GLH). 

Topics covered: the nature, purpose and period of validity of a personal licence, the application process and legal duties when applying for a personal licence, the legal duties of a personal licence holder, the roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities, the nature and strength of alcohol and the effect on the body and the law in relation to premises licences.

Assessment method: assessed by a multiple-choice examination.
