The 2023 WorldSkills UK finals for Electronic Security Systems and Fire Alarm Systems, took place on 15th and 16th November at Wigan and Leigh College. The 16 finalists coming all the way from the regional heats to the semi-final stage at IFSEC in May, before the final stage in Wigan.
Skills for Security are the organising partner for the competition, with Director of Technical Training, Darrell Gilmour, co-ordinating the two-day finals, which culminated with the awards ceremony at Bridgewater Hall, in Manchester, on the evening of Friday 17th. The finals were judged by representatives from the NSI and SSAIB and as can be seen below, Skills for Security apprentices took the top two spots in Security and the runner up spot in Fire. The finalists below are all invited to the Security & Fire Excellence Awards at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel, Park Lane, London, on 4th December, where their accomplishments will be celebrated by the wider industry.
