A professional security operative is an individual who is trained and employed to provide security services for individuals, organizations, or properties. They are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling designated areas, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting premises for potential security breaches, and responding to alarms or incidents.

Professional security operatives may work in various settings such as hotels, office buildings, retail stores, hospitals, or events. They might also perform tasks like crowd control, access control, conflict resolution, emergency response, or even personal protection for VIPs.

These operatives undergo specialized training and education related to security practices, law enforcement, emergency protocols, and self-defense techniques. They should possess excellent communication skills, observational abilities, physical fitness, and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

Furthermore, professional security operatives are expected to adhere to ethical standards, maintain confidentiality, and follow the law while carrying out their duties. The specific job responsibilities and requirements can vary depending on the employer and the nature of the security operations.

  • If needed, we may also invite one of our delivery team to join that conversation to answer any ‘technical’ questions you and/or your employer may have.

  • Once you and your employer are happy this is right for you; will be invited to complete a formal application which will be the start of your journey.

As part of this journey, and as a requirement of completing an apprenticeship, you will be required to complete an initial assessment in English and mathematics in addition to a skills scan where you will mark your competence, on a scale of 1 – 10, against the requirements of the apprenticeship.

Once all the above has been completed and we’re all in agreement the apprenticeship is for you, we will arrange a formal meeting with your employer, you, and us to confirm final commitment and compliance requirements, apply any recognition of prior learning then agree and signoff the overall training plan.
